Joseph Minek makes photographs without a camera. Working in a fully lit room, he uses chemistry itself as his medium, with no lens, no shutter, and no exposure in the traditional sense. Each work is mixed, poured, and manipulated directly, with the title serving as a kind of recipe: a precise record of the chemistry that produced it.
This abstract composition, a vivid field of blue fractured by streaks of green and lighter blue, suggests layered reflections, organic growth, or fractured light. The work shifts subtly depending on where you stand, the light of the room, and what you bring to it.
Every piece in Minek's series is unique.
